Gabriel Ash Classic Eight Planthouse on dwarf brick wall | Supplied + Fitted in Cabinteely, Dublin 18 by Owen Chubb Garden Landscapers, Tel 087-2306 128

The Classic Eight Planthouse seen here measures 8ft wide x 12ft long was installed in a beautiful garden in Cabinteely, Dublin 18. The structure has expansive raised growing beds on each side which were also constructed in matching brickwork. Standing 2971mm at the ridge (10ft) and 2061mm (7ft) at the eaves , these lofty structures are 500mm taller than the height of our standard Classic Eight Greenhouses, making them ideal for growing taller plants but also as a Garden retreat suitable for a wide range of leisure activities. It is no wonder that the Classic Eight is Ireland's most popular selling planthouse.  Featuring a host of high quality finishes and specifications, the standard width is 8ft (2.4m) and the modular 'panel' framework design, the planthouse can be easily made to any length, starting from 3.6m (12ft) and increments of 60cm/2ft (standard panel width). Popular selling lengths are 3.6m -4.8m (12ft - 16ft). All planthouses come with 1 set of double doors (1130mm wide for easy opening and access) and low entry threshold as standard. Doors are fitted on the gable end and thanks to the high eaves, doors can also be fitted on the long side (curtain wall).  Customers can order Classic Planthouses to be installed on a low (dwarf) brick wall or alternatively with cedar base panels. As with all Gabriel Ash greenhouses, the Classic Planthouse Eight comes with a 10 year structural guarantee.   We also offer additional installation services including constructing base, walls and paved floor areas as well as provisioning electrical & water services and UV timber protection (Osmo).

Specifications Overview of the Classic Eight Planthouse range

Cedar
The framework is in a top grade Western Red Cedar which is grown on the Western Sea Board of North America. It has long been used in inclement climates in the construction and garden industries due to its longevity (the timber contains natural preservatives), stability (it does not easily warp or bend being straight grained) and strength. All of the cedar is sourced from certified or sustainable forests. Cedar absorbs moisture readily which brings the natural preservatives to the surface,it does however give off absorbed moisture rapidly in its natural state, which causes no harm and is a natural process. There is a wide colour variation in the raw material, it mellows to a silver grey as exposed to weathering.

Gabriel Ash Greenhouses are the only timber greenhouses to be endorsed by the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society).

Glass
All structures are glazed in Tempered Safety Glass to British Standard BS.6206

Fixings
These are a combination of solid brass and stainless steel, both being suitable for use with Western Red Cedar due to their resistance to corrosion by the timber itself and extreme weather conditions.

Aluminium
We use powder coated aluminium to provide improved weather protection, ventilation and long lasting strong rainwater goods. The gutters and downspouts are solid aluminium providing compatibility with proprietary rainwater systems and so may be used to link with rainwater saving tanks and butts. The cedar roof spars are protected on the exterior by cappings with neoprene gaskets securing the glass and ensuring weatherproofing. All products have an alumimium plinth on which the structures sit, this raises the timber off the brickwork protecting it from rising moisture and giving a stronger fixing into the foundation.

Automatic Ridge Ventilation
All Greenhouses have our unique automated ventilated ridge using heat sensitive openers. The ridge runs the entire length of the structure providing a favourable ventilation pattern in normal growing conditions.

Optional Extras
Sash windows (Planthouse are supplied with windows as standard, ie a minimum of 2 + depending on overall length)
