Garden Design in Dublin 12, with the emphasis on optimising available space for outdoor enjoyment, family fun & practical parking | Owen Chubb Garden Design, Tel 087-2306 128

Garden design in Dublin 12 for a mature property situated in a distinctive triangular aspect and comprising of 3 areas. Typical of old properties, there were visible signs of previous landscaping/construction works which lacked coherency and failed to provide a more practical, appealing outdoor family space. One of the key design objectives was to create a more coherent link to all 3 areas, an essential component of which was to optimise space visually but also to remove the many variances in ground levels between front and rear areas. The results illustrate how even awkward shaped spaces can be enhanced coherently to meet the various requirements including safe family outdoor space, car parking and play areas. To ensure as much flexibility of the paved areas and planting along house perimeter, a series of steel planters (Biohort Belvedere Planters) are to be used instead of traditional ground level flower beds. This not only makes the space more flexible and adaptable (by moving planters if required) but also allows planting to be positioned close to windows and along perimeter of house. The Biohort HighBoard Outdoor Storage Unit provides an excellent and stylish to store and conceal the 3 wheelie bins. Site privacy and some division between spaces is provided by the existing mature boundary hedge but also the inclusion of custom made horizontal painted timber slat fencing. The planting mix includes specimen trees, mature shrubs, colourful herbaceous & perennial borders.   The emphasis on creating a colourful, private and low maintenance garden is achieved by a careful selection of resilient finishes and appropriate planting providing all year low maintenance, clutter free enjoyment.
