Loose stone aggregate (stone chippings) is not only a very cost effective solution but a very popular & affordable choice for replacing and/or extending existing driveways. Good ground preparation is essential in order to provide requisite support for a level, stable and free draining surface finish. Given the wide range of different stone aggregate options (type, size & colour) available, the permeable benefits (surface draining) and aesthetic qualities are also key reasons for selecting loose stone aggregates (chippings) for driveway areas.   Apart from the cost effectiveness of this type of driveway surface finish, some maintenance is required (occasional surface raking to keep stones in-situ) and weeding.   Our driveway project in Rathgar, Dublin 6 features the popular Ballylusk stone chippings, complemented with Granite kerbing to frame planted borders & a generous entrance with granite setts.
