IDEAL HOME IDEAL GARDEN
Come and see us at the forthcoming Ideal Home Exhibition (Stand U 20) which takes place in Dublin’s RDS, 16-18 April 2010.
GARDENSTUDIO

Our new showrooms located at Unit 1, Fortfield Lane, Fortfield Road, Terenure, Dublin 6W (entrance to Fortfield Lane is next to the Topaz Service Station on Fortfield Road) is open to the Public. We can also offer flexible visit times, eg, outside normal office hours as well as Saturdays.

Our GARDENSTUDIO features an exciting range of unique and exciting well designed garden products including Water Features, Victorian Summerhouses, leisure Garden Furniture, Deroma Planters, handcast Bronze Garden Sculpture etc, several of which were exhibited with great success at BLOOM 2009.

We very much look forward to your visit.

BLOOM 2009 – a blooming success
This years’ event the third in succession is certain to exceed all expectations. The weather has been magnificent and the paying public have come in droves. On Sunday alone the attendance figures were in excess of 18,000 and by the end of the show on Monday in excess of 60,00 visitors will have attended.
As one of many particpating exhibitors, BLOOM 2009 has proved to have been an enormously successful event, and visitor interest in garden products contrasting starkly to some pre-event concerns that the current economic conditions and recessionary fears would have a significant dampening effect. Not so, the level of interest and purchases made by visitors at BLOOM 2009 was simply overwhelming and dispelled any evidence of recession.
We featured a cross selection of products from our GARDENSTUDIO and all proving very popular. Not surprising, there was great interest in our Victorian Summerhouses, TITAN stainless steel water features and of course our range of ORB Swing seats.
From the moment doors opened at 10.00am right throughout the day to closing time at 6.00pm, there was a consistent heavy traffic of visitors to our stand effectively resulting in opportunities for any break to be few and far. This has been very much the case since the show started last Thursday! Monday is the final day it will no doubt be as busy as previous days and one could be confident that it might in fact be the busiest of all days.
Although the fine almost Mediterranean type weather has been a contributory factor in the success of this years’ event, there is no doubt that the organisers and exhibitors have also made great efforts to make this year’s show better than ever. Ultimately great thanks and acknowledgement must be made to the paying public who once again demonstrated clearly in their tens of thousands that under the right circumstances taht there is considerable demand and interest in gardening and that over the last few days at least there was little evidence of any recessionary gloom.
Here are some photos of our product exhibits taken just before show opened on Sunday. I would also like to congratulate Eddie O’Brien, the Entrepeneur and inventor of The Hangout Gazebo Clothesline (as featured on RTE’s Dragons Den) who co-exhibited on our stand with great success. The Hangout is an outstanding example of Irish enterprise and innovation and was hugely popular with visitors to BLOOM 2009. Not surprising when you consider some of the Hangout’s product attributes including energy and cost savings, environmental friendly, multifunctional all weather clothesline which is also a useful garden centrepiece and ideal for a variety of garden entertainment activities. Congratulations and well done again Eddie who is seen demonstrating hanging clothes using the Hangout.
A sturdy Garden bench that’s built for comfort and durability

Looking for a comfortable, hardwearing garden seat/bench but one that is very good value and requires little maintenance ? Well here’s a design which is influenced by the style of the classic Park bench and because of it’s excellent ergonomic profiling is also very comfortable to sit on. Produced from pressure treated spruce it is tough enough to withstand all that the traditional Irish weather can offer and go on doing so for 20+ years and more.

At 1800mm long (6′ 0″) there’s plenty of sitting space for at least 3 adults. Available in two formats (flat pack and ready assembled) with prices starting at € 235.00 (incl VAT) offering great value for money. So no more need to worry about annual painting or staining, simply admire the timber hues as they gracefully turn a silver grey in time and leaving you more time to enjoy the garden from the comfort of a sturdy bench.
So whether you prefer to put the feet up or sit up, there’s hardly a more comfortable and affordable hardwearing alternative to this classic style Park bench.

The product comes complete with an easy to follow assembly instruction and all timbers are pre-drilled which means that with the help of a cordless driver, the unit can be assembled in a little over 10 mins.

The product will be available for sale from our exhibition stand (Outdoor Retail Area, Stand Nrs # 35, # 36, & # 37) at the BLOOM 2009 Garden Festival, 28 May - 1 June 2009 as well as from ‘Owen Chubb GardenStudio’ in Terenure, Dublin 6W. Delivery and Assembly services are also available (extra charges may apply).
BLOOMING FLOWER POWER
For the third consecutive year we are participating in the Bloom Garden Festival. Each year we have increased our presence and this year is no exception. We have increased our display area because we have many more products to showcase and build on our earlier successes. Design will continue to be an integral aspect of all our work and this year we will be showcasing a range of products designed to inspire and indeed make life more enjoyable.
Our stand (Stand Nr 35, 36 and 37) will be located in the Outdoor Retail Area. Come along and see great design, great detail, and fabulous garden features. Amongst the products on display will be TITAN Stainless Steel Water Features, Figurative Bronze Garden Sculpture, Victorian Summerhouse, Deroma Planters and many will be delighted to know that we will also have our incredible iconic garden furniture including the ORB (Single and Double) Swing Seat, Classic Park Bench, Hammock and much more.
We will also be announcing some fabulous and unbeatable promotional offers including featuring the unbeatable innovative cordless garden products from Bosch (Ciso – the world’s first cordless secateur an as well as Isio – the most compact lightweight trimmer with interchangeable blades for trimming hedge/topiary and grass edges).

Wet’n'Wild after Plan Expo
Well the PlanExpo event got off to a very slow start, and many exhibitors were left on Tuesday wondering if things could get any worse.
Wednesday brought a modest increase in visitor levels and Thursday was very busy. Overall one would have to be happy with the overall visitor numbers, certainly quality of visitors was good. We exhibited at Plan Expo to launch our new range of stainless steel Water features, which were received very well. Not surprising there was a tremendous response by Interior Designers and Architects. No point dwelling on negativity, what’s important is to remain focussed and positive and proactively generate awareness and stimulate market demand.
After the show we dismantled our exhibits on Friday morning and it was back to the ‘day job’ and site duties by lunchtime on Friday. Weather has become very wet’n'wild and with less than 7 weeks to Christmas we’re under increasing pressure to complete projects before the Christmas break. I hope the weather holds up. Bookings for 2009 are up on 2008, which is really encouraging.
Finally, can I acknowledge and express our sincere thanks to everyone who visited our stand at Plan Expo, and offer my apologies for the
temporary unavailability of our online Shop due to technical upgrade work. We will of course reply by email to all requests for product information. For those people who were unable to visit Plan Expo, here are some photos of some of our new stainless steel water features:
