Groundworks and securing a levelled garden area
Ground works to remove granite boulders from area as well as achieve a more unified general level continued. The 5 tonne Excavator does this work easily but still a keen eye is necessary to avoid over-working the surface and potentially damaging the soil structure. Despite its great size and obvious strength the rubber tracks make an excellent job of grading the top layer and when necessary we use the graded topsoil which which had been set aside previously to help back fill any undulations in top level. Meanwhile work has also commenced to install a new perimeter chainlink fence to secure the garden boundary and hopefully deter any unwanted entry from local foxes, deer etc. On a cool but bright sunny day, there is a distinct rural feel to the atmosphere and incredible to think that we are after all within a 5-10 minute drive to the major shopping areas of Sandyford, Dundrum and Stillorgan. Work to install the sandstone sett edgings for the pathway also commences.
Installing the sandstone setts for pathway edgings
Groundworks to grade and level ground continues
Graded topsoil will be used to backfill any hollow areas
All fencing posts are deep anchored and well secured in the ground
The robust fencing posts are well protected against the elements
The outline of the new perimeter fencing begins to take shape
The prospects for a new and level lawn surface are very promising
