The owners were very keen to exploit the potential of this large and relatively very private and secluded garden with a south easterly facing aspect. As parents the priority objective was to optimise the space potential to create a garden which could be used and enjoyed by their young daughters and their friends. Secondly it was important to provide more spacious patio areas to enable the family pursue their interest and passion for outdoor living, ie, barbequing and enjoy the general outdoor relaxing lifestyle (as best as Irish weather would permit!).
A modest sized Family garden in Knocklyon, Dublin, is completely overhauled, re-designed and reconfigured as a split level garden with optimum space for morning and evening patio areas, large lawn circumvented by sweeping sandstone raised planter beds to provide an eye catching, practical and coherent design. Limestone paving provides a distinctive neutral finish complementing the warmer sandstone and planting colours and a wonderful granite water feature offers a beautiful focal point as well as a soothing atmosphere.
As will be evident from the following photos, we offer our clients a unique and comprehensive range of Garden Design & Landscaping services, including garden layout & planning, construction of patios, boundary walls, pathways. We design - we build - we care.
In common with many typical family gardens, there is a long list of must have's or requirements for many families. The design objectives for this garden was no different to most, yes as much space for young children to play and enjoy (lawn areas), storage (garden shed), work (home office), laundry (rotary line), somewhere to sit in mornings and evenings (patio areas), an easy means of getting from A to B (footpath) and all this before getting to the key elements of the garden, lost of colour, interest throughout the year, easy to maintain, safe for children etc.
This Garden Design & Landscaping project involved a comprehensive overhaul of an existing Castleknock, Dublin 15 garden which had become very jaded and overgrown.
The original garden was jaded and the space because of the split levels made it difficult and frustrating experience to feel relaxed in a sense of space. Timber decking and fence panels showing increasing and obvious signs of decay also contributed to the overall disappointment. The new design sought to remedy the obvious, remove split levels, replace timber panel with a new rendered Boundary wall, offering a clean line, security as well as a more pleasing and permanent backdrop.
Following the completion of a major refurbishment to the property, a large sub-urban garden which enjoys a delightful sunny aspect was re-designed and comprehensively re-modelled to provide an stunning and safe family garden offering plenty of scope for enjoyment by all family members.
Aided by the excellent weather, we're making very good progress on the construction works requirements of the raised patio and raised planting bed areas.
Recent weather improvements has enabled us to make good project progrees, all construction completed and the initial planting phase started. Already after only some of the larger trees and plants have been installed along with the new roll turf lawn, the new garden is clearly visible. The next phase will involve the careful selection and planting of the herbaceous borders and by mid-summer, this new early season garden will hopefully provide the ne wproud owners with a stunning and colourful display.
Make your dream garden a reality.
